Corazon de la Tierra
'Heart of the Earth'
Corazon was born in 2000 in the Owyhee HMA in Nevada, which is where he spent the first three years of his life. Horses from that particular Herd Management Area often test high for Spanish blood and Corazon shares many of the Spanish traits. At 14.3 hands, he is not particularly tall yet he is built wide and strong. His dark bay coat doesn't have so much as a single white hair in it and his intense summer dappling turns into quilted puffs in the winter.
We call Corazon 'The Quiet Leader' because he leads the Star's Rest Band with calm, kindness and by being fair. The other horses seek out Corazon's company and he will share food with even the least horse as long as that horse is minding his manners. Aggression and misbehavior mean exclusion in the Star's Rest Band, and they quickly learn to appreciate peace and quiet to stay close to Corazon.
Corazon, Llego and Griton form the Inner Circle of the Band and they are always standing near each other, usually with Corazon in the center. Corazon and Llego are Pair Bonded and as Llego continues to mature, he will begin to share the role of leadership.
Corazon takes his role seriously and is always watchful for the safety of the band.
